WHAT IS THE AFRICAN IMMIGRANT MENTAL HEALTH CAREER PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM?

We help African immigrants earn a mental health professional license of their choosing.  The program is one to two years, depending on the license being sought.  Participants work full time at Reihan Company as a mental health practitioner; obtain required supervision hours; receive financial assistance for licensing, exam fees and prep services; career planning and mentoring to navigate the process.

Funding for this program is provided by the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Adult Mental Health Division.

WHO CAN APPLY?

You must meet the following criteria

  • Qualified mental health practitioner

  • Approved bachelors or advanced degree for mental health profession

  • First or second generation African immigrant or refugee

  • Strong communication skills

  • Commitment and ability to complete licensing requirements

  • Licensed Social Worker

  • Licensed Graduate Social Worker (non-clinical)

  • Licensed Graduate Social Worker (clinical practice)

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

  • Licensed Professional Counselor

  • Marriage and Family Therapist
